This video started as a quick piano arrangement and improvisation on Hans Zimmer’s iconic Pirates of the Caribbean theme. The music has so much energy and momentum that, before I knew it, I somehow drifted into a fugue… even though my fugue-improvisation skills are still very much a work in progress. 😅 So consider this a playful, spontaneous moment: Zimmer’s cinematic atmosphere meets a not-so-serious, slightly chaotic, “I ended up here by accident” fugue. Nothing in this piece is pre-written — just a burst of creativity at the piano, following where the motifs naturally wanted to go (even if they dragged me into counterpoint before I was ready).
