No subscription. No cloud uploads. Just your photos, your way. This video walks you through how I disabled the built-in apps on a Nixplay 2K / W10E frame (which is essentially an Android tablet) and replaced them with free, open-source alternatives. This guide shows the steps to take on a Windows PC and enables you to: ➼ Display photos and videos from local storage ➼ Access photos and videos from WebDAV or Samba shares (nextcloud / Synology NAS) ➼ Load albums from an Immich server ➼ Serve short aerial view videos to your frame Confirmed working on: W10C, W10E 🗂️ Contents 00:00 - Disclaimer 00:39 - Introduction / Overview 03:10 - Opening the frame (Nixplay W10E) 07:27 - Performing a Factory Reset / Recovery 09:27 - Essential Apps You'll Need 13:32 - Preparing Your PC 15:25 - Disabling the Nixplay Sandboxing 17:13 - Setting Up the Frame 29:47 - Enabling Remote Access 32:28 - Activating the Screensaver 33:36 - Custom Boot Animations 36:57 - Closing the Frame 39:47 - Remotely Installing Photo Functionality 42:20 - Uploading Photos to the Frame 44:40 - Aerial Views 49:11 - ImmichFrame 53:28 - Feature Comparison 56:45 - Outro / Summary 🧰 Tools needed Opening tool (A credit card is said to work as well): https://www.ifixit.com/products/ifixi...
