Goat Ridge Hiking Trail, Chilliwack, BC

Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park June 28, 2020 Weather: Cloudy with light rain. Sunny moments. With wonderful views of Lindeman and Chilliwack Lake at the Ridge, we started the hike up at the trailhead which is approx 150 meters north of the Lindeman Parking Lot. Although we planned on hiking to the top of Goat Peak, we were limited in time as we started the morning late. Hiking from the start point of the trail, there are a few turns that are confusing without any signage. We went through the clearing area and then around 100 meters we reached the fork going up to the ridge and peak. There is where the incline never ends but with the help of ropes and switchbacks, it made it easier for us to get to the stunning viewpoints. Along the away and in about the 2 hour mark, we reached the first viewpoint where Lindeman Lake is clearly visible. Stunning views of the nearby mountains and the skies were clear and calm enough for us to stop for a short while to take some pictures. As we continued ascending up, the views became much better. We stopped at the second viewpoint to lunch and enjoy the views. Lindeman and Chilliwack Lake could be seen and some sun was beaming on the side of the close by mountains. As time became our obstacle and expecting rain in the afternoon, we made the decision to go up further. After soaking in the views and recharged ourselves, we continued the hike up. The trail got steeper, we went down then up again adding to the elevation gain, and scrambled through big boulders until we reached our final destination where we were greeted with miraculous views. All the lakes, mountains and greens that we saw in the previous viewpoints became a lot more alive. We spent about a good hour soaking in the views, and taking pictures on the rock close to the edge of the cliff.
