Hiking the Natural Well, Monte Sano State Park, Alabama

This is a hike to the Natural Well, in Monte Sano State Park, near Huntsville, Alabama. The Natural Well is an amazing vertical cave shaft that you can hike right up to the edge of and peer over the precipice. I started out by following the Arrowhead Loop trail from the trailhead because I find it more scenic than following the actual Natural Well Trail (which follows an old road). However, I eventually meet up with the Natural Well Trail / Road anyway and follow that the rest of the way down to the Natural Well. The trail is a pretty walk in the woods and the fall leaves were beautiful. After reaching the Natural Well, you can peer over the edge while tightly gripping the wall or one of the fence posts. In that video, I hike the entire Arrowhead Loop route to get to the Natural Well. In this video, I’m just hiking directly there and back by the shortest route. Its a little less than 4 miles round trip and not to difficult, but is a very interesting place to visit; especially on this beautiful fall day.
