If you are planning a trip, this video will help you a lot! ⸻ :train2: Day 1 – Journey from Kolkata to Shantiniketan We started our journey from Howrah, Kolkata and boarded the Kulik Express around 9:00 AM. The travel time is approximately 2–3 hours to reach Bolpur Shantiniketan. There is also the Shantiniketan Express (10:00 AM departure from Howrah) which reaches around 12:15 PM — another good option for travelers. After reaching Shantiniketan, you can explore the museum near the railway station and also have breakfast nearby before starting your local tour. ⸻ :oncoming_taxi: Toto Booking & Local Travel Tips During Holi season, toto prices become high, so bargaining is very important. We spoke to a toto driver who gave us full details. He offered a full-day Shantiniketan tour for ₹1500. Toto Contact Number: 9547357263 We booked the toto for the whole day and started exploring. ⸻ :round_pushpin: Places Covered on Day 1 :european_castle: Surul Rajbari (Shurul Gram) A historic zamindar palace near Shantiniketan with beautiful old architecture and heritage vibes. A peaceful place to explore and click photos. :art: Srijani Shilpagram A handicraft village showcasing traditional art, culture, and crafts from different Indian states. A great place to experience rural culture and local creativity. :deciduous_tree: Salboni Jungle One of the most photogenic places near Shantiniketan. Surrounded by greenery, it’s perfect for nature lovers and peaceful photography. ⸻ :rainbow: Day 2 – Holi Celebration in Shantiniketan We started our Holi morning by showing our beautiful resort where we stayed. :house_with_garden: Our Stay – Ponchobon Resort We stayed at Ponchobon Resort, which was very beautiful and peaceful. :warning: Important Tip: During Holi season, you must book your room at least 1 month in advance, otherwise rooms are very hard to get. ⸻ :exclamation: Important Update About Holi Earlier, the main Holi celebration used to happen inside Visva Bharati University. But now the official Holi celebration there has been stopped. Currently, the best and most happening Holi celebrations take place at: :cherry_blossom: Sonajhuri Haat Holi The most vibrant and energetic Holi celebration with colors, music, and festive vibes. :deciduous_tree: Salboni Jungle Holi A unique and colorful jungle Holi experience surrounded by nature. ⸻ :pray: Kankalitala Holi We also visited Kankalitala, a sacred Shakti Peeth, where Holi is celebrated with devotion and spiritual energy.
