To infuse your oil, you will need to follow a 1:5 ratio. 1 part herb/plant/flower to 5 parts carrier oil (an olive oil, almond oil etc). Infuse by following one of the 3 methods: 1. Place the jar with your herb/oil in your window sill in direct sunlight for about 4-6 wks. 2. Preheat your oven to 200 degrees F & then turn off. Place your jar in the oven for 3 hours. 3. Use a double boiler on your oven to infuse your oil for about an hour or so. (I show you how to do this in the video) Ingredients for salve: 1. Infused oil (made the way we discussed in today's video with whatever herb/flower/plant you've chosen) 2. Beeswax 3. Essential oils of choice (optional) This recipe is made with a 1:8 ratio. You can make as much or as little as needed. Just make sure to follow the 1 part beeswax to 8 parts infused oil. The more beeswax you add, the more solid your salve will be, less beeswax will render a creamy salve. So feel free to play with this ratio depending on the type of product you want. But the 1:8 ratio is a good starting point if you're not really sure. In today's video I used 32oz of white clover infused oil with 4oz of beeswax.
