Today's ramblings (completely unrelated to the video 😅 as usual): Book banning has always been around, but in recent years, society has shifted from "it is illegal for this book to be in a public school library" to "it is illegal for this book to be in a public library" and now towards "this book is illegal, and anyone caught buying or selling it will face legal consequences." And of course, the number of banned books has grown quite a bit. As far as I know, these bans typically take place at the county level of government, so the reach isn't overarching, but it does leave an interesting future to navigate: What if the author has social media accounts? What if they are interviewed by other users of social media, or on TV? A channel I watch was recently taken down and subsequently reinstated owing to the channel "giving a platform to banned users."
