Video & photos of a solo motorbike trip through the beautiful Ardennes on my Moto Guzzi V85TT, in November 2025 This trip took me through the heart of the Luxembourg and Belgian Ardennes, a landscape of undulating country roads and golden forests that calm the loudest thoughts. The Ardennes are an often overlooked playground that ignores national borders and includes: Belgium (Wallonia & Luxembourg [the province] - French speaking) Luxembourg - the north 1/3 of the country, called Eislek, and for me the most jaw-dropping part of the country I call home. France - extends into the Grand Est region of France, specifically the Ardennes département. This area is famous for the twisting Meuse Valley. Germany - while the name "Ardennes" is French, the plateau continues east across the German border, where it is known as the Eifel. Geologically, they are the same ancient mountain range. The Ardennes is famous for its 'S-curves' and sweeping bends that demand your presence, but also longer stretches of gentle rolling hills that are more relaxing. This is a region defined by its resilience; from the historic battlefields of Bastogne - centre of the Battle of the Bulge -(officially the Ardennes Counteroffensive) to the quiet, medieval charm of Vianden. Expect technical riding through river valleys like the Sûre and the Our, where the tarmac clings to the hillside and every corner offers a lesson in balance. The Ardennes is home to an incredibly dense network of rivers and the area is dotted with castles and charming villages to larger towns. In Belgium, the abbey beers and Trappist cheeses are your reward for a long day in the saddle.
