Video by Jean-Rémy Ceron After winning Fort William and Les Gets, Amaury Pierron carried his form into another World Cup victory this weekend in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, and he's back in the hunt for the World Cup overall! We could tell that he wasn’t happy about his 4th place performance in Val di Sole (Italy) the week before and we knew he still had a lot to show going forward...and we weren't wrong! Amaury Pierron - 1st (2:49.422) "Honestly, I struggled for the first practice runs, I couldn’t find the right lines and pace. I crashed quite hard on the first day but our osteopath, Brieuc, saved me once again (laughs). We worked hard with the team, Gaëtan my mechanic and Arthur the COMMENCAL engineer, to find the perfect settings. My bike and myself were feeling better for qualies and I knew it was possible to do the challenge again. I pushed so hard and thankfully it was enough! I’m so happy to take another win and it’s good to know I can still chase the World Cup overall! The last round is going to be crazy!" Rémi Thirion - 24th (3:02.448) "This last week has been a bit crazy for me and I arrived here a bit tired because I became a dad on Monday and my emotions were still high! I managed to still be focused on though and I was feeling good on my bike. I’m disappointed with my result because I know I could have done better, but I had too many mistakes and the track was still un-predictable on some sections so it was pretty hard to find the right pace." Rémi is sitting 12th in the overall. Thibaut Daprela - 16th (+13.767) After winning qualifying, Thibaut was feeling confident and really wanted to win this round. Unfortunately, he sliced his rear tire in the second corner up top and got a flat shortly after. He still managed to stay in the fight until the 3rd split but couldn't hold it until the finish line. He admittedly had never been that angry at himself before, but once again he learned a lot to take forward. His main competitor in the overall, however, Kye A-Hern, didn’t score enough points which means that Thibaut is the 2019 UCI Junior DH World Cup winner! We conceded our lead in the team overall to the Santa Cruz Syndicate and dropped back to second place, but it's a close race with only three points in it, so expect a fight from us all the way through until the final round in Snowshoe! Last but not least, Myriam Nicole is back on her DH bike! She should be back for the coming events, namely World Championships in Mont Sainte Anne (Canada) and the World Cup final in Snowshoe (US). After spending a week in Morzine and putting down numerous laps, she’s now in Whistler for Crankworx to keep building her speed and confidence on the bike. We’re pretty excited to see her between the tape again! See you in a couple of weeks at World Champs!
