Hawaiian Hula in Gilbert! | Hālau Hula O' Kalikopuakalehua at Global Village Festival 2025

Hello! I'm Aaron Tsosie—the person behind the camera! 🎥 Before Saturday's ASU Pow Wow events kicked off, I had time in the morning to stop by and see my friends from Hālau Kalikōpuakalēhua perform at the Gilbert Global Village Festival. The festival had a great mix of food vendors and local artists under pop-up canopies, but I only had about an hour and a half before heading over to ASU. Setup was easy, and I managed to take tons of photos, which I shared with the hālau the next day! The festival is free to attend, though parking near Gilbert Civic Center was a little hectic. Cool fact: there’s a 9/11 memorial on site—a beam from the North Tower is on display to honor the lives lost during the attacks. Huge shoutout to Hālau Kalikōpuakalēhua for letting me capture their performance! I found out many of them are subscribers, and I felt really appreciated.
