BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) - Two medical marijuana stores are set to open in Butler County. This is nearly three years after Gov. John Kasich legalized the program in Ohio. Butler County currently has two dispensary licenses and both open the same week. Seven Mile Medical Marijuana Dispensary at 403 S. Main St. in Seven Mile opens Thursday. Strawberry Fields at 300 N. Main St. in Monroe will open to the public Friday. Seven Mile is owned by Bloom Medicinals, who runs five stores in the state. Customer Steven Rosenbaum was impressed with the store. “The inside is immaculately clean. It has a beautiful floor and the showcase goes completely along,” Rosenbaum said. Strawberry Fields runs four dispensaries in Ohio. Both offer various products like oils, edibles and tinctures. “I have spinal stenosis, and it’s pretty painful. I was to the point where I was laying in bed if I just turned or rolled or anything but it felt like a knife going in my back. During the day, I don’t flop out like I did on the opioids. It’s a lot more pleasant than the opioids for the pain,” said Rosenbaum. There are currently 56 dispensary licenses in Ohio. More than 500 doctors can recommend medical marijuana cards to treat several conditions. Crowds are expected at the grand openings.
