The FMS F4U 4 Corsair is a 1.4m wingspan warbird with a brushless 4250 KV540 motor, 14x8 four-blade prop, rotating retracts, split flaps, and an 80A ESC. Powered with a 4S 5000mAh LiPo. Flight Review: Takeoff was towards the south on the tarmac. I let it build speed and got the tail flying but accidentally drifted into the grass. With the throttle still on the Corsair rolled out cleanly on the grass and peeled off, climbing away into a left hand circuit. The first landing approach came in too fast so I committed to a low fly by instead. After that the rest of the flight was focused on landing practice from different angles, different flap settings, and different speeds. On several descents the throttle was fully reduced to zero to see how the airframe behaved. A few touch and goes were successful and there were some fast low banking passes mixed in. The Corsair felt solid throughout and predictable once the speed was managed properly. The final landing was done with no throttle and full flaps. The sink rate was dialled in well but I was unable to flare it out, touching down hard and pulling slightly on the left landing gear. That has since been glued back in and will be reinforced before the next flight.
