Clinical social worker Lisa Beth Miller of the Lighthouse Guild talks to us about maintaining good eye health for older adults; early detection to prevent vision loss; general tips to maintain good eye health; low vision rehabilitation to help you adjust and make the most of your vision in daily activities -- and how to get connected with services. Lisa Beth Miller, LCSW-R, BCD, currently Outreach and Referral Coordinator and Behavioral Health Clinician, at Lighthouse Guild, previously served as Social Work Manager for Lighthouse Guild's Continuing Day Treatment Program. On the Board of the New York State Society for Clinical Social Work Met Chapter, she initiated and developed the Society’s online listserv of 2,000+ clinical social workers, which thrives, today, as the main reason given for members appreciating their membership. She brings extensive experience as a licensed clinical social worker on an inpatient psychiatric unit, in outpatient mental health clinics, in schools and in private practice, to her work connecting people with vision impairment and blindness to services and information they need - at Lighthouse Guild and beyond. Lisa’s article about vision loss is in a 2nd publication, in Behavioral Health News, Aging Vision: How Social Workers Can Help Address Vision Loss – For more events like this and others, visit us online at https://psslifeu.org – To view past webinars, visit us online at https://pssusa.org/resources/ – To join our mailing list and see what other programs and services we offer, visit us online at https://pssusa.org/newsletters
