Eatonville History Preservation Project Gallery Opening at the Orlando Public Library on July 10, 2025. Eatonville, Florida "The Town That Freedom Built" America's First Black Incorporated Town Eatonville History Preservation Project - presented by Orange County Library System’s Eatonville Branch, eSTEAMED Learning, Inc. and Artist Lisa G. Moore. About the Project The Eatonville History Preservation Project is a collaboration between the Eatonville Library and eSTEAMED Learning, Inc. to merge the arts of quilting and storytelling to preserve the history and culture of Eatonville. The Eatonville History Preservation Project will feature photos of Eatonville residents and short videos that share each resident’s personal story of pride and resilience as it relates to living in the historic town. Each photo will have a QR code which links to Eatonville’s Orlando Memory page and a playlist on the OCLS YouTube page. The goal is to capture and preserve stories that span through generations. A quilt will honor the Eatonville residents who shared their stories along with the artistry of Lisa G. Moore. The quilt will be displayed permanently at the Eatonville Branch for library customers to learn about Eatonville from the people who call the historical town home. April 2025 Interviews 1.
