Fluoptics presents its innovative near-infrared (NIR) fluorescence imaging solutions for real time guided surgery. This revolutionary approach allows surgeons to see during the operation what is invisible to the naked eye. The optical imaging device Fluobeam® provides surgeons with real time information to precisely locate a fluorescent marker, which is either circulating through the vascular or lymphatic system or is attached to areas of interest of the patient, such as tumorous cells. Fluoptics solutions are already being used in numerous applications, such as reconstructive, cardiovascular, lymphatic and liver surgery, in some cancers to detect sentinel nodes and in fluorescence angiography. This innovative approach brings an added value that should drastically secure the procedures and improve patient outcome. Video Credits: Executive production: Bridge Communication; director, Ahmed Hadj Ameur. Fluobeam® is a hand held fluorescence imaging camera. It allows plastic and reconstructive surgeons to see the flap perfusion after anastomosis, which is invisible to the naked eye. Pr. G. Bettega - Maxillofacial surgeon - is presenting his Fluobeam® use during the video. FLUOBEAM® is a Class IIa medical device, manufactured by FLUOPTICS©. CE 0197 FLUOBEAM® is indicated to visualize on a screen the flow, the distribution and/or the accumulation of Indocyanine green (ICG) before, during and after surgery for the indications such as: visualization of the blood flow, visualization of the lymphatic flow, visualization and identification of the bile ducts during hepatobiliary surgery, visualization and detection of primary liver tumors and/or hepatic metastases. FLUOBEAM® is also indicated to facilitate the visualization of parathyroid glands by auto-fluorescence (natural fluorescence without ICG injection) during thyroid and parathyroid surgeries. Before the first use, read carefully the medical device instructions for use. Information about medical device contained in this video is for health professionals.
