A major raid was conducted by the Excise Department at the Old Mukhiya Hotel, located at Loyabad Junction, following reports of rampant sale of counterfeit liquor. During the operation, a heated altercation broke out between the hotel owner and Excise Inspector Kuldeep Kumar, which soon escalated into violence. According to reports, the situation turned aggressive when the hotel owner and his staff allegedly grabbed the inspector by the collar and physically assaulted him. In the commotion, family members of the hotel owner forcibly freed him from custody, while other excise officers at the scene reportedly remained passive. After the incident, Inspector Kuldeep Kumar lodged a written complaint at the Loyabad Police Station, demanding strict action against the hotel owner and his associates. He also submitted video footage of the altercation to aid in the investigation. Inspector Kumar stated that the raid was initiated based on repeated complaints from local residents, alleging that spurious liquor was being openly sold at the hotel. Upon reaching the premises with his team, several individuals were found consuming alcohol. The team immediately seized four cans and three bottles of Godfather beer from the location and requested the hotel owner to produce valid documentation, which he failed to provide. As the owner was being taken into custody, staff members and family present at the hotel allegedly turned violent, manhandled the officers, and created enough chaos for the accused to escape. The Excise Department has confiscated the recovered items, and the local police have begun a detailed investigation into the matter. Meanwhile, the hotel owner has denied the allegations, stating that the raid was conducted at a neighboring shop, and he is being falsely implicated by the excise team.
