From new national funding streams, to “events with soul,” and locally-led programs, it’s been a year of remarkable growth for Thrive. Watch our Year in Review video or read the highlights below to recap regional momentum worth celebrating! 🌟 Highlights from 2025 New funding streams from the Appalachian Regional Commission’s ARISE program and the Trust for Civic Life, which help expand our organizational capacity, and also allow us to invest dollars directly into local communities and partner organizations. Working alongside Monteagle and Soddy Daisy, Tennessee to create community-led resilience plans in the Resilient Communities program, a partnership with Open Space Institute. A 100% hiring rate from Cleveland State Community College’s Logistics & Supply Chain Management program that uses the TRIP transportation data portal to research real transportation challenges for area industries. Convening community, industry, and nonprofit leaders across the region in unique locations to tackle pressing issues like environmental stewardship and infrastructure. This year we hosted sessions at McKee Foods, the Paint Rock Forest Research Center, Covenant Logistics, Dalton State College, Cleveland State Community College, Kilbride Nature Sanctuary, downtown Chattanooga, the South Cumberland Plateau, and Volkswagen. Creative storytelling and partnerships that highlight the people preserving the region’s natural treasures, pinpoint transportation challenges in the region, and advocate for creative, collaborative solutions. Elevating issues of regional significance to legislators at the local, state, and federal levels. Moving to our new office in downtown Chattanooga. Hosting the third annual Tri-State Summit, where we celebrated the power of “Yes, And”- where competing priorities become shared possibilities. Bringing environmental science close to home, with 8 teachers and 650 students in 7 schools across the tri-state in a curriculum led by our partner Homegrown National Park, based on the Thriving Gardens native landscaping tool. Progress made on local connectivity plans that resulted in senior citizen digital literacy education in Whitfield County, Georgia, and a new WiFi-enabled park in Walker County, Georgia. An emerging connection with the Smithsonian Rural Initiative to strengthen resources that enhance cultural education and enrichment here in the tri-state.
