Takayuki Yagami joins the Ryu Ga Gotoku's line up of protagonists in his first game in the franchise. Yagami hunts down the mysteries of AD-9 that links back to his decision to quit being a lawyer and becoming a detective. Alongside AD-9 there's a serial killer on the loose as yakuza members are found around Kamurocho with their eyes gouged out, it's up to Yagami to find out this serial killers connection to AD-9 as Yagami dubs him 'the Mole'. It's still set in Kamurocho which is invaded by the Keihin Gang with Honda, Kasai, Sakakiba & Koga! Yagami was a previously a lawyer who quit due to a client of his committing murder after Yagami had proven his innocence. Kaito joins Yagami on the game as his best friend and we got the Genda Law Office as allies to Yagami with Hoshino, Saori & Genda as well as a love interest in the prosecutor Mafuyu! No longer the latest game in terms of story events after Kiryu's story line ended with the release of Yakuza: Like a Dragon, we won't be seeing the other Yakuza characters in Judgment. Ryu Ga Gotoku and Sega back at it again with the Yakuza entries, this time with a twist.
