Before And After Modernization: North Tower Otis Elevators At The Westin Seattle, Seattle, WA

Taken June 24th, 2016 (Before) & March 22nd, 2018 (After). I am aware a few frames dropped in the before portion of the video, but YouTube didn't let me download it in 60fps, here is the original video of these elevators in original condition:    • AMAZING 1982 Otis Lexan (TO BE MODERNIZED)...   More vids of these when original:    • Otis Traction Elevator at The Westin Seatt...   ,    • Видео   Well, guys, The Westin Seattle, home to some of the TALLEST Otis Lexan Elevators has changed COMPLETELY!!!! And sadly, the Lexans' are no more. :( This hotel has changed a LOT since 2012, first in 2013, they gutted and renovated all of the guest rooms and hallways completely, in 2014 they REPLACED the North Escalators, in 2016, the replaced the key card readers and did minor renovations in the hallways, and as of 2018, the are replacing the South Escalators and Completely Renovating the Lobby and Fitness Center. However, the most recent thing that is going on here isn't the sad part. Throughout 2016 and 2017, they COMPLETELY MODERNIZED ALL OF THE ELEVATORS!!! (Except the service ones) :( Thankfully, this year wasn't my first time visiting Seattle, and I got the pleasure to ride these in June 2016 before they all got completely modernized during the Summer-Fall 2016 Season along with throughout the following year, 2017. These were indeed some very fun elevators, but sadly, they have now been completely modernized. All that is left of the old elevators now is the original door track, the outside doors, and the skelatons of the elevator cars themselves. Other than that, the cabs, motors, call stations, lanterns, controllers, fixtures and EVERYTHING has been completely replaced!!!!! These obviously were Otis Lexan as seen in the video, with the RARE dissapearing IEE indicator, installed in 1982, but with the more 70s style Lexan, but now are Otis Elevonic 411M with MAD Touch 2 Go COPs, and Series M2 Call Stations. Overall, I really am not happy about this mod, and wish they left these alone, and I was told originally that these were going to be getting Otis Compass, and that they would go faster, but INSTEAD, they got this Touchscreen junk which is for whatever reason a trend on lots of modern elevators, and they seem to go MUCH SLOWER than when they were Lexan!!!! With that being said though, I am glad these are still Otis, and that the company who installed them did they damage and they didn't get a KRAPNE replacement. And the new cabs are MUCH nicer than the old cabs!!!! Still, I wish they kept the Lexan and kept these original, but with this all being said, it could have been MUCH WORSE!!! Also, thankfully, the Service Elevators are still original with the Lexan buttons, but staff wouldn't let me ride them due to heavy construction going on in the lobby and they were behind locked doors. Also, I do apologize for my original 2016 take when these were original being shaky, but I was still amateur at filming, and My time was limited, and they were really busy and Obama was about to come to the hotel!!! Anyways.
