A high-intensity, fast-paced score depicting an adventurer fleeing from a dragon after stealing its child. Watch part one here:    • stealing from a dragon (part 1) | orchestr...   (turn on subtitles for lore/song explanation) LORE The subtitles and chapters of this video go over the story as it happens, but I've included the full explanation below for those interested :) This is part two of my "fantasy chicken" series, which takes place in a world where dragon eggs are collected by humans so the hatched dragons can be trained as mounts (or whatever else they could be useful for). The story of the two "fantasy chicken" compositions follows an egg collector on a mission to steal a dragon egg (big surprise). In "stealing from a dragon," they infiltrate a dragon's lair and find an egg; however, the egg has already hatched. Instead of giving up their mission, the egg collector steals the dragon hatchling—a cute (and marketable) creature too naive to escape and too small to do any damage. But as the collector turns to leave with their prize, the hatchling's mother arrives... The collector hides among the treasures accrued within the lair, but they are discovered. That brings us to this piece, which follows the collector as they franticly flee from the dragon. At first, they scramble for their life, but after a moment of reprieve, they outmaneuver the dragon and scurry out from the lair into the greater cave system. The dragon pursues, but the collector slips away into the many nooks of the cavern. The dragon walks off, searching for its child. The hatchling, having been quiet thus far, calls for its mother. The dragon takes notice and barrels toward the sound of her child, but with a head start, the collector successfully escapes the mountaintop cavern into a nearby forest. The collector darts through the forest, hopeful that they've finally escaped. However, the angry roars of the dragon echo across the mountain range... Emerging from the forest, the collector skids to a stop, nearly shooting off a cliff. They hear a sound behind them, and their heart sinks. They desperately search for another escape route, but before they know it, the mother dragon emerges from the brush with a deafening roar. With nowhere to run, the collector jumps off the cliff, hoping to use the baby dragon's wings as a parachute. I won't spoil what happens next :) Okay, enough mediocre writing—I really enjoyed making this piece! I usually make more tame, peaceful pieces, so such an intense and fast song was a nice challenge. It took me five months of on-and-off work to make this, and I'm really happy with how it turned out!
