Join VisualDx for a lecture on how dermatologists think and approach diagnosis. Dr. David Harker will discuss why morphology and description in dermatology are so important, provide an overview of how to describe a rash (primary lesion, secondary features, arrangement, distribution), how to review how these features group a rash into categories (reaction patterns) and how those categories inform a proper differential diagnosis. Dr. Harker will also review some resources that are high yield for non-dermatologists to learn some basic dermatology, and finish with a cautionary tale. This lecture is geared toward non-dermatologist clinicians, including primary care and emergency medicine MDs, DOs, NPs, and PAs. Our guest presenter: David Harker, MD Dr. Harker earned his Doctor of Medicine Degree at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. In addition to excelling in his studies and clinical rotations, Dr. Harker invested significant time researching the immunology of melanoma, presenting posters at academic conferences, and contributing to publications in high profile dermatology journals.
