After having to cancel my PCT thru hike plans for 2020 due to the ongoing state of the world I decided to help "stimulate the economy" and take a look at the very intriguing Zpacks Altaplex. The Altaplex was recently re-released by Zpacks. The shelter (Camo version) comes in a stuff sack and requires a pole of around 56-58 inches (roughly 147cm) to set up. With the optional carbon fiber trekking pole extender the shelter weighs in around 17.70oz or 502g As an avid Zpacks Solplex enthusiast the Altaplex offers some nice perks over the Solplex and takes up a fairly similar footprint.
