CCF Webinar: A Multi-Institutional Global Study of Genetic Risk Factors for Cholangiocarcinoma

One important piece of the puzzle in cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) research is understanding how inherited genetics may influence risk. To help address this question, our group is collecting blood samples from individuals with and without CCA to identify genetic factors that may increase the risk of developing this cancer. In this webinar, we will share findings from our global genetic study of CCA, conducted on 2,366 individuals with CCA and 11,750 controls and recently published through an international collaboration of researchers and the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation. We will discuss what these discoveries reveal about inherited risk for CCA and why they represent an important step toward better understanding how this cancer develops. Finally, we will share how patients and families can participate and help advance this important research. Recorded on March 12, 2026
