Laura Modiano leads the startup ecosystem strategy for OpenAI across EMEA, working with VCs, accelerators, and early-stage founders to support the responsible, high-impact use of frontier AI technologies. Before OpenAI, Laura held key leadership positions at AWS, where she partnered with top-tier firms like Sequoia, Index Ventures, a16z, and General Catalyst. She led business development and strategy for generative AI, healthcare, and life sciences startups across EMEA—bridging deep tech and purpose-driven innovation. Her earlier career includes roles in digital health, management consulting at Monitor Group (Deloitte), and innovation strategy for both the UK’s NHS and Boston Scientific. With a cross-sector background spanning tech, policy, and impact, Laura brings a unique lens on how to scale responsibly in a world shaped by AI. At Panathēnea 2025, she shared insights on the intersection of AI, startups, and ethical growth.
