November 11, 2018 Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival Sunrise Florida Hello everyone, I decided to check out the Grace - Jamaican Jerk Festival this year 2018, held at Markham Park on November 11, 2018. First thing I noticed on arrival, the price to get in; parking was $10, plus $40 per person for entrance at the gate. A bit much I thought, but upon entering I soon realized it was money well spent. Trust me people, there were activities for the entire family. Kids had a bouncy house to play in, adults had live music to sing along and rock to, there were giveaways a plenty and food galore. Vendors of all description, jerking everything. If you can think of it, they were jerking it. They even had jerk ice cream, who knew... Actually tasted real good too, you would definitely want to try it. I tried a little of this and that, but to tell you the truth people, I was very unimpressed with the jerk chicken I had. Maybe it was just that one vendor, and u can call me crazy if you want, but I really expected that at a Jerk Festival of this magnitude, every thing I tasted would be Top Chef quality, spectacular, even. Not so, I was exceptionally disappointed. This was my second time attending the Grace - Jamaican Jerk Festival, I went a couple years back, and though this time around I wasn't overly impressed with the food, I nevertheless had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I think I will definitely calendar this event for next year. But I will be purchasing my ticket in advance this time around, and there better some superbly done Jerk Chicken...
