Hello Friends and welcome back to my weekly art studio vlog. Come and visit the National Gallery of Victoria with me. The Pierre Bonnard exhibition is on until 8th October 2023 and it is a must-see! It is a completely immersive exhibit full of colour and it is just what I needed after a low period recently. When you think of Pierre Bonnard you think of color, light, pattern, and open compositions. He broke all the rules in art making and whether you are a fan of Bonnard's work or not, I think he has a lot to teach us. In particular, his compositions have a lot of open space allowing room for pattern. He was heavily influenced by Japanese woodcuts and patterned prints and that shines through in most of his still-life compositions. Today I will focus on his lessons in composition and how to compose a painting according to Bonnard. I hope you enjoy : ) My links https://www.selinawilsonart.com.au/ / selina_wilson_art / selinawilsonart https://www.skillshare.com/en/profile... https://www.redbubble.com/selinawilso...
