সংঘাত-সন্ত্রাস নয় জাতীয় পার্টি নির্বাচনের মাধ্যমেই ক্ষমতা পরিবর্তনে বিশ্বাস করে বলে দাবি করেছেন দলের চেয়ারম্যান হুসেইন মুহম্মদ এরশাদ। শনিবার দুপুরে দিনাজপুরের বীরগঞ্জে পথ সভায় এ কথা জানান তিনি। এ সময় এরশাদ আরো বলেন, আগামী নির্বাচনে অংশ নিতে ৩শ' আসনে প্রার্থীও প্রস্তুত করেছে তার দল। সাবেক রাষ্ট্রপতি হুসেইন মুহম্মদ এরশাদ বলেন, 'জাতীয় নির্বাচনে আমরা সব আসনে প্রার্থী দিবো। যেভাবেই হোক আমরা নির্বাচনে অংশ নিবো। আমরা নির্বাচনমুখি দল, নির্বাচন না করে ক্ষমতা পরিবর্তন করা যায় না। তিনি আরো বলেন, 'আমরা সন্ত্রাস, অগ্নিকুণ্ড, জ্বালাও পোড়াও য়ে বিশ্বাস করি না। আমরা সংবিধানে বিধানে বিশ্বাসী, নির্বাচনে বিশ্বাসী। তত্ত্বাবধায়কে বিশ্বাস করি না, তারা আমাদের ওপর সুবিচার করে নাই। সংবিধানে যা লেখা আছে সেভাবেই নির্বাচন হবে।' Party's Chairman Hussein Muhammad Ershad has claimed that the Jatiya Party believes in change of power through elections, not conflict-terrorism.
