Fire Explorer Program Information

The Huntington Beach Fire Department Fire Explorer Program is a youth- based program that focuses on the introduction in the fire service and emergency medical services. This program puts an emphasis on education, training, career development, and positive mentoring. Not only will HBFD Explorers gain experience related to the fire and EMS service, they will have the opportunity to gain life skills, character development, teamwork, and leadership skills. The purpose of the Fire Explorer Program is to give young men and women an inside look into the fire service and help these young people make the decision on whether they want to take further steps into pursuing a career as a firefighter. The Huntington Beach Fire Department accepts interest cards year round at hbfireexplorers.com. The program is currently FULL and every 3-4 months the current status of the explorer program will be reevaluated to determine the need to accept new candidates into the program.
