"Exploits" Not Included! Part #25: Thoughts On Classic (ONI: Spaced Out!)

In this VOD of our Oasisse run, we, uh, mostly just experience a lot of lag. The amount of mess we have generated on this run is starting to reach critical mass and the dupes are spending more time pondering and less time working. The gases mixing throughout the map are also taking up performance, and the Pip situation certainly isn't helping. I have learned many lessons about different Oxygen machines, ways of handling Metal Volcanoes, how to utilise Shove Voles, and most importantly good ways to survive on Oasisse, so I don't think this has been a complete waste of time. I might see if Fast Track sorts out this run when the mod gets updated again but I think it would be wise to shelve it for now. I might also try fixing the Pip ranches and sorting out the environmental gases off stream and see if that works. I've noticed that I get into a bit of a vicious cycle with Classic maps, where I get tempted to expand rapidly due to the abundant resources, and then the game just slows to a crawl before I get to the end. So we're gonna start the new Moonlets run tomorrow. This will lag less due to having less dupes, less critters, and more organised asteroids. This should let me achieve my remaining aims for the game with less lag and more fun.
