n this video, Ashdown Forest’s Countryside Manager, Ash Walmsley, talks about how Riggit Galloway cattle grazing are helping protect the Forest’s heathland by managing the proliferation of purple moor grass, or Molinia. He also explains about the introduction of ‘NoFence’ technology which is about to be trialled in an area close to the Visitor Centre at Broadstone. A GPS system keeps the cattle within virtual fence lines so that no electric fencing is needed. The cattle will be introduced to the area next week.
