Also, I wanted to have a dreamy look, with less contrast and make everything a lot softer this way. 0:17 1. Basic Adjustments First, I wanted to fix the vertical lines since they were skewed due to the wide angle lens I used. That’s easily done in the transform panel of Lightroom by simply adjusting the vertical slider. This will lead to a gap towards the top part which I wanted to fill later in Photoshop (I didn’t want to loose that much sky). Next, I changed the profile to Adobe Landscape for more saturation and adjusted the white balance to my taste. For the dreamy, soft look, I lowered the contrast and raised the blacks. Then, I slightly dropped the highlights and shadows, while carefully raising the whites. For some more saturation, the vibrance was raised as well. 3:50 2. Local Adjustments I wanted to add some more heavy glow and warmth on the top left. Here I used a radial gradient which covered almost half the image. Inside of it, I raised the white balance temperature A LOT, then increased the blacks and dropped the dehaze for the glow effect. Finally, I added a well saturated orange tone on the radial gradient. 4:55 3. Color Grading I wanted to make the orange and blue tones stronger, so in the HSL tab I pushed the saturation of both of the tones. Next, I headed into the split toning panel. For the highlights I added more yellow / orange tones with a very high saturation. For the mid-tones I used a blue, cold color to keep the balance between warm and cold in the photo. Finally, in the calibration tab, I dropped the blue primary hue slightly to give those warmer tones a red color cast. 7:00 4. Photoshop First, I filled the gap with the content aware fill. Then, I got rid of sensor spots, birds and some pillars using the spot healing brush, clone stamp tool and the content aware fill. To further enhance the glow on the left, I added a soft light layer and a hard light layer and carefully painted on both of them with a big soft brush. Finally, I used the Nik Collection plug in to add the glamour glow effect and the brilliance warmth filter. Both of them do increase the warmer tones and help to add the dreamy look. Keep in mind this could have been done in Lightroom as well!
