Having done two of these in a week I thought it was time to make another video of the technique. This is essentially a PTC but with access into the portal vein. The islets are then infused under gravity and they settle in the liver and produce insulin. The real science is in the preparation of the islet suspension to make them suitable for infusion. (I used a 7F sheath here for the infusion. Some may consider this too large and risky for haemorrhage and would prefer a 6F sheath or just the outer component of the Galt Stick or other introducer).
