when you listen to a tape over and over, the tape changes, but so do you Worn Out Tapes presented an interesting opportunity to go way outside the core aesthetic of UNBEATABLE, because this particular version of the song is way outside the rest of the soundtrack. You can hear what Worn Out Tapes has changed into on D-CELL's channel (   • UNBEATABLE @ DAY OF THE DEVS: SUMMER GAME ...  , but suffice to say this song is in some ways on an island of its own now. Admittedly, a lot of the creative decisions here were driven by me needing to make three videos in one month. However, I thought my usual wireframe aesthetic with some interesting prop and rendering decisions could make for something more abstract, something that represents the concept of an inner voice and memories fading away. Once I managed to warp a tape into the shape of a heart by complete accident, the whole aesthetic ended up coming together. Eventually, the tapes ended up becoming literally a part of who Beat is, at least in her own mind. Once again, I'm having to speculate a lot on what the story and themes actually are, but this felt appropriate for the lyrics and I'm happy with what's here, even if it ends up being off.
