free download of my album: https://lowentropy.bandcamp.com/album... from conception, from first idea to finished album, i nearly spend 14 years on this. i always loved experimental music, complex, meandering, convoluted tracks that went on and on and combined a thousand elements. but, at the same time, there is merit in music like punkrock, with 3 chords and simple, or new wave, or pop. there is something about a frontal, elemental, basic approach to music. i was torn between these two opposites. but i thought. could i not combine them? doing an experimental pop music album. what infused me later was, that in commercial pop, sounds were used that i knew from hardcore and doomcore and no one seemed to noticed that or find it interesting. the idea grew more and more inside me, that it is indeed possible to do a subversion of pop, with doom synths and experimental sounds. in 2008 i started working on this. the project quickly faltered, with 2 and a half finished tracks and lot's of drafts. all these files later vanished in a computer crash. then four years later, i found a CD-R in my shelf, that had backup of these project files. i finished some of the drafts, but the problem was, as it was back then: i did have the sounds but no singer for them! i just had started Doomcore Records and decided to do at least an instrumental release of these files - which is still some of the most downloaded releases of the label. then, in 2017 i hit my head on these tracks again. i finally had an idea who could sing for them. so i wrote some lyrics, worked on the tracks a bit. and here is the finished result! ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Doom Pop.
