The meeting discussed the spiritual significance of fasting, meditation, and self-examination in the wilderness, emphasizing the importance of love and unity in one's relationship with the Holy Spirit. Fasting can be seen as a spirit-led long meditation, preparing oneself for a greater relationship with spiritual consciousness. The term "spirit" in this context refers to the Holy Spirit, representing a breath or life-giving force of God. The wilderness is an open space where one can be more receptive to the presence and energy of the spirit. Temptation is a time for self-examination and grappling with things that hold us back. The Harvenger (John the Baptist) paved the way for Jesus' ministry of love. Jesus went into the wilderness to examine his inner self and prepare for his ministry. Love is the foundation of Jesus' teachings and Christians should strive to manifest love in their lives. The wilderness can be a place of clarity and connection to the spirit, clearing the path for clear thinking. The inner heart, or soul, contains a holy strength and worthiness that needs to be recognized. Jesus recognized the strength of his lower self and the challenge of proving his messiahship. Meditation techniques were used by both priests and people in the past, but started dying off 150 years ago. The Hebrew word "Hipatte" was most often used to mean meditation in the Old Testament. Self-isolation in meditation involves separating one's essence from their thoughts and connecting with their true spirit. Separating oneself from others based on religion is superficial and goes against the unity that God desires.
