In this video, we’re finally ready to explore ODMR measurements using KWANTEACH. KWANTEACH provides an intuitive software interface designed for the spectroscopic characterization of nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in diamond using Optically Detected Magnetic Resonance, or ODMR. We will start by defining the frequency range to be scanned. In a first measurement performed at zero magnetic field, the ODMR spectrum shows a strong resonance around 2.87 GHz, which corresponds to the intrinsic splitting of the NV spin levels in the absence of an external magnetic field. Next, we will apply a static magnetic field to the diamond. This introduces a Zeeman splitting of the spin levels, making the ODMR spectrum more complex. Multiple resonances appear, corresponding to the different crystallographic orientations of the NV centers. Each resonance is further split by hyperfine interactions with the nitrogen nucleus. Finally, we will investigate the influence of the radio-frequency power. At low power, the hyperfine structure is clearly resolved. As the power increases, the resonances broaden, and at high power the fine structure becomes difficult to distinguish. #quantum #quantumphysics #quantumdiamond #quantumengineering #quantumtechnology
