Law enforcement continues to seek opportunities to build trust in communities in order to create safer neighborhoods. At the same time, the business and corporate communities have established well researched and proven processes to gain customer loyalty and drive increased customer satisfaction. This talk examines the need for law enforcement to adapt their community outreach to a more customer focused approach using the voice of the citizen to create new law enforcement strategies. Bill is currently the Assistant Dean for MBA & Executive Programs for the University of Pittsburgh – Katz Graduate School of Business wherein he is responsible for the entire portfolio of MBA, Executive MBA, International Executive MBA and Executive Education Programs. Prior to joining the University of Pittsburgh, Bill was a 22 year member of the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police wherein he held multiple positions eventually retiring with the rank of Commander. In addition to his professional background, Bill has worked with McKinsey and Company as a subject matter expert on police policy and strategic planning. He has also taught a variety of courses and workshops in the areas of police management, leadership, ethics and crisis management. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
