I've been making maple syrup for a few years now, just small batches—enough to keep syrup in the pantry year-round. Recently, I've heard about and seen reverse osmosis (RO) systems that people use to reduce boiling time. These systems can remove 30%–60% of the water from the sap before boiling, saving both time and fuel! In this video, I go over how I built a RO system for maple syrup and walk through the setup process.
