Hi guys, so in my injector cup and injector rebuilt/shim fix from last week was short lived. In the fix for the injector cups, installing the shim kit and new orings, I had to purchase a new injector harness (under the valve cover) on the passenger side when I tried to fire up the truck after all this work. For some reason I got lucky and the truck ran great right after that....unfortunately...short lived. I was running errands with a trailer and the truck ended up puking the passenger side bank. The truck was running very nicely up until then and decided to run only on the driver side bank. Took me 2.5 hrs to get home for a 20 mile trick. Flashers working and truck running a mere 10-20mpg on flat ground it took forever to get home. I finally had to drop the trailer a few miles from the house and try to make it up a small but long hill to our place. Needless to say, I make it and used my Tundra (2013 - awesome truck) to collect the trailer. Long day to say the least. In trouble shooting the issue I looked at the external valve cover connector and it looked horrible...and a common issue for the 7.3. Needless to say I ordered a replacement from Alliant Power from Amazon. This video shows the installation of that pigtail and some trouble shooting tips for the harness using a simple continuity test to see if the harness is done or in working condition. Same with the valve cover gasket and the pass-through connector. In the end, the pigtail fix seemed to have worked. I am putting some miles on the truck to make certain (I don't trust it yet but need it for work..sooooo). In any case, after the swap the truck runs smooth, fires up immediately and purrs like only a 7.3l can. Wish my luck with this thing....hope it keeps running for a bit. I need to retain some of the time and $$$ I put into this thing. I have only put 14k miles on this thing and it has been a stress test...frustrating, lots of new parts and fixed issues. Why everybody keeps telling me the 7.3l is a work of art and super reliable I will never know. In my 3 years of owning this thing...it's been hardly trouble free! Love to get say 100K miles on it without any problems....fingers crossed! CYA
