The game, had no scheduled release but rather follows the Minecraft business model of releasing in small parts over time to reach its maximum market. DayZ Standalone in its current Alpha state has a ton of bugs, some consider game breaking and as of today lacks vehicles. Despite the lack of transparency on when the games release was scheduled, this soft release has proven a success. Personally, I enjoy the game very much for its low price, it is definitely worth checking out. Also, despite all of its shortcomings, it is actually really, really fun!
