Following the dream of devising one of the best rums in the world, Spanish entrepreneur Julian Barcelo founded Ron Barceló in 1930, in the city of Santo Domingo. The optimum product was obtained by experimenting with different brands on the local market; it wasn’t long before Julian began producing his very own rum and in 1950 the Ron Barceló brand was launched. The brand quickly became a reference between local rums and one of the largest and most prestigious Dominican enterprises. Ron Barceló Imperial was launched in 1980 and was the first super premium rum in the Dominican Republic. Sugarcane juice fermented & distilled, then aged in American white oak aged, before it is blended then bottled. The quality of this super premium rum is due to several key factors: monitoring sugarcane production, the use of the purest water, ageing in new American white oak barrels in ideal climatic conditions, found in the Dominican Republic, and over 70 years of experience blending the finest rums.
