It is a 13-inch machine with two USB-C ports and a headphone jack, and Apple is aiming this thing squarely at first-time Mac buyers, students, and anyone who just wants a simple, lightweight laptop that feels fast. In the demo area, it felt snappy doing everyday stuff, and the idea of iPhone-class silicon pushing a full Mac workflow is genuinely intriguing. But you can also see exactly where Apple cut corners to hit the price, and the most surprising one is the trackpad. It is still glass and it tracks well, but it is physically clickable, which is a total throwback compared to the haptic Force Touch feel most of us are used to. Bottom line: the MacBook Neo looks like a serious value play, especially with the education pricing and the storage upgrade option.
