Not For Sale // Gibson made depression era archtop. These are 14fret L-00(KG14) 14 3/4in bodies with and arched top and arched back. It is believed that Robert Johnson played one of these. "Steven LaVere, stated that it sounds like Robert Johnson used an archtop for the Dallas sessions and a flattop for the San Antonio sessions. In an interview in the 1990s, Johnson's travelling partner, Johnny Shines, stated that both he and Johnson used Kalamazoo archtops. The Kalamazoo archtops of the time were models KG-21 and KG-31." These little guitars have a very unique sound compared to other archtops. It still sounds like an archtop but with more warmth and responsiveness, almost like a classical. I believe everything is original except the bridge. FYI: worn out and mutilated can kill the sound potential of these old guitars, much like a worn out ill fitted record needle. A freshly fitted bridge (like this one) can fully restore its sound potential. Set up and playing great. Video demonstrates playability. Because of the unique body size, I do not have a case with this guitar, but finding the right case is crucial to protecting it. one that squeezes down on the bridge will surely crack the top and braces, so make sure the case you use closes without effort. I do have an l-30 that fits in a deep classical case, but not all classical cases. You would need to try out cases before you bought them if at all possible. As long as most of the guitar is there, I can make it play again. Please like and follow to see more of this kind of content.
