There we go. We now have a total of ten completed questionnaires. To see them, click the responses tab. I can view them as summaries, per question, or per individual. You can also see the data in the Google spreadsheet. Click Create Spreadsheet. Click Create. This is all your raw data. For now, close this tab. Select the summaries tab. Just scroll down to see the responses. Let’s switch to the question tab. You’ll see all replies split by question. I seldom use this option. Next, switch to the individuals. You’ll see the questionnaire just like someone would have filled it out. I don’t use this option, but I can see its potential. This would be perfect for job applications. You could then browse through the information provided by each applicant. Click the arrows to go from one person to the next. I’ll show you what I do. I go to the response tab. Remember these dots. Then, download all the responses in one CSV file. That abbreviation stands for Character Separated Values. It’s just a plain text file with data. These types of files are used for exchanging data between different applications. For example, between Google Forms and SPSS. To end the survey and prevent people from sending in more replies, go to the Responses tab. Turn off the option of accepting responses. Even if the link to the survey is still out there, for example, on social media, no one can submit a reply. Finally, let me show you how to export your data to Excel. Select the responses tab. Click the dots and choose Download Responses as a CSV file. You can put it anywhere on your computer. If it’s a zip file, you need to uncompress it first. I right-click and select Unzip Here. Start Excel and a new, blank page. Click the Data tab. Then click the option Import from text and CSV. Locate the file and click Import. You can preview the data and try different options until you get it right. Click the option to read and open the data in Excel. Before you do anything else, save it as an ordinary Excel file, i.e., .xlsx, and not as a CSV file. That way, it will be easier and safer for Excel to open and close the file. Also, give it a new name. Another way to get the data into Excel is to export it as an Excel file. Let me show you. When inside Google spreadsheet, click File, and drag down to Download, Microsoft Excel. Then, double-click that file, and it will open in Excel. In summary, choose the method that works best for you.
