If there is an eye injury to the child try to assess whether it is a superficial injury or a deep injury. If it is a superficial injury, try to avoid or try to prevent the child from rubbing the eye but if one feels that the injury is quite deep, then see to it that the child is immediately taken to an eye surgeon and requires further checkup. Kindly do not wash the eye with water if you feel the child has got a deep injury. If a small dust particle or a sand has entered the eye or a chemical enters the eye, then one can easily wash the eye with copious amount of water.
