2022 SIV Clinic During this clinic I was playing around with energy management and thought I would have enough energy for a big wingover. After exiting a deep spiral, I attempt the wingover without sufficient energy. The timing and energy management weren't there, and I come dangerously close to gift wrapping myself. My instructor, recognizing the situation early, called for me to deploy my reserve parachute. I land safely in the water with a newly learned valuable lesson. This flight was a powerful reminder that transitions between maneuvers are just as critical as the maneuvers themselves. Energy management, patience, and knowing when to stop and reset.
