Oil pan: I suggested a 4x4 block of wood, which will work, but a 4x6 or larger surface would be MUCH better for lifting by the oil pan. I was impatient and thought that I can lift the engine without removing the crossmember. When the crossmember is removed, there is enough room to properly support the engine from the oil pan.
