In today’s video, I show how I made a rocket nose cone using random household materials. This is part of my DIY rocket project, where I’m building a homemade model rocket in India using simple, low-cost materials that are easy to find and easy to work with. This project is beginner-friendly and made for anyone interested in amateur rocketry and engineering projects. I’ve been working on this homemade rocket build for a long time, and this will be my first complete rocket, which means I have no professional experience in rocketry. The rocket design is kept simple: it will launch, reach altitude, and then a homemade flight computer will detect the altitude and ignite an igniter to deploy a parachute for safe recovery. I built the rocket flight computer myself using a Raspberry Pi Pico, BMP280 altitude sensor, SD card module, and other basic electronic components. All the flight computer and parachute deployment videos are already available on my channel, so you can watch them anytime.y Doing model rocketry in India is challenging because high-power rocket motors are not easily available, so I had no option but to make my own rocket motors. I’ve tried many times, and most of them failed — but all those homemade rocket motor tests are documented on my channel. Nearly everything in this project is built by me, simply because I don’t have access to ready-made parts. The first rocket nose cone I made was only for testing, so I didn’t use it on the actual rocket. In this video, I build a new rocket nose cone using foam board, PVC, cardboard, and wood glue. To achieve the ogive shape, I used a motor to shape the foam, and it worked smoothly without any problems. This video focuses only on building the rocket nose cone. The full rocket build and launch are coming very soon. 👉 If you want to see the completed homemade rocket, subscribe to the channel and stay tuned!
