Brownells Gun Tech™ and resident firearm historian Keith Ford has another rarity to show us. The French MAB PA-15 was the first 9mm pistol to have a higher magazine capacity than the Browning Hi-Power. Designed and put into production in the 1960s by Manufacture d'armes de Bayonne, the "Pistolet Automatique 15" has a magazine capacity of - you guessed it - 15 rounds, two more than the Hi-Power. Designed with hopes of winning a French military contract, the PA-15 ultimately lost out to the Beretta 92. Keith strips down his nicely preserved PA-15 and shows us its unique rotating barrel operating system that's very different from the Browning system we all know. The single-action PA-15 is a very smooth-operating but rather heavy (about 2.5 lbs.) pistol. MAB never obtained a big military contract for the gun, and due to restrictions on owning "military-caliber" firearms in France, most PA-15s were exported. Production ended in 1982 when MAB ceased operations. More Brownells videos: http://www.brownellsvideos.com
