Release Date: 2013-04-29 Label: Faceless Recordings Catalog # FR001 This April sees the formation of a brilliant new project by an illustrious collection of producers from the contemporary house scene on Faceless Recordings. The inaugural release is Left Your Love by Climbers feat. Yasmine Azaiez backed with remixes from Frankie Knuckles & Eric Kupper as The Directors Cut, Silky, and Barber. Faceless Recordings is the brainchild of Mexican duo Climbers and London-based Silky and Barber. With its sights set high, the label aims to release timeless heavyweight electronic cuts from the founders peers around the globe as well as nurturing new talent. The release opens with the title track Left Your Love featuring the sensual vocals of Tunisian, Yasmine Azaiez. The song takes the form of an emotional storytelling record about missing loved ones and homesickness while on the road. The melodic elements of the cut beautifully drift and meander around simplistic yet effective drum programming resulting in a sun drenched, modern workout. Up next is the Directors Cut Remix which is a project from house veteran Frankie Knuckles and Eric Kupper. As expected, the result is no-nonsense house music with all the ingredients for a classic record including bright synth stabs, crunchy drums, rolling percussion, and an elegantly crafted structure that manipulates the original vocals alongside heady arpeggiated synth lines. Simply timeless. Entering the latter stages of the release we have remixes from label-heads Silky and Barber. First up is Silkys rework who takes things deep with a drawn-out proggy bass hook, dark and eerie synth lines, and a fresh bubbling arp-line. The My Favorite Robot and Nurvous artist delivers his innovative and unique outlook on the original with a tasteful dropped-tempo interpretation. Closing the release is OFF Recordings artist Barber who reshapes the original into a twisted electronic track with vocoded vocal effects, moody synths, and smoky melodies.
